.: Kelly enjoying the peaceful meditation of painting at a local paint-your-own pottery shop on a special day with her mom :.
Kelly and her best friend Kandyce share a craft blog together. You can find their latest creations through their shared blog Notions and Threads.
I got to know Kelly through a comment she left on a post I wrote about creating beeswax candles. Her comment moved me deeply when I realized that she has cancer and yet still keeps such a truly uplifting heart. After only a few emails with Kelly I could not get her off my mind.

I have spoken with many of you about The Wellness Tree project and have been overwhelmed by the positive response. You are all happy to gather around with positive wishes and encouragement to Kelly. Each one of you have responded instantly and without hesitation. It has been an honor to talk with many of you about your own dealings with this similar diagnosis, for some it was your own mother or your friend's battle.
.: Kelly made Ari a birthday boy onesie to wear out to breakfast and to stroll around the Farmer's Market:.
I feel that Kelly is bringing us all together as a community. May she be deeply touched by this outpouring of love and connection. I know that each new day I look at life in a different way through knowing Kelly's story as well as feeling humbled by the love and support that is shown by all of you. Along with the ornaments and wishes we are all creating for Kelly let this space be a place of peace and inspiration for her.
.: Handmade cards by Kelly. She enjoyed following another crafty bloggers tutorial :.
I asked Kelly's friend Kandyce if she would share with us some of Kelly's favorite things in life. I hope that we can get to know Kelly in this space to truly offer her love and support through our words and through the crafting of ornaments we create for her.

.: Kelly and Ari :.
.: Kelly is an incredible writer. When not battling cancer, Kelly teaches Composition to college students. She has taught at the University of Kentucky. Her hobbies are gardening, baking, cooking, sewing, and crafting (especially collage).
.: She is passionate about many things; helping women especially in the areas of breast feeding, birthing (she almost became a doula), child rearing, supporting her local farmers (CSA and co-op), and loving those around her.
.: Home made bread and bread bag created by Kelly :.
Right now Kelly's hopes for the future are of growing old and being able to return the kindness that she has received. Family is very important to her. She is very close to her parents and her sister. You will not meet a more kind, loving, thoughtful, considerate, encouraging, loyal person than Kelly.
Love the bread bag!
