With great excitement in our hearts and surrounded by sweetly scented evergreens, we lost ourselves in a magical world of trees.
Three little ones had set out on a treasure hunt, pulling in their wake a shiny cart to carry home their special find.
My tall boy was handed the hand saw at the start of this journey and set off with my tall girl and small boy to find the most beautiful tree!
"Oh, look at this one! Come see! Come see!" So the small boy with the red gnome hat and the tall girl quickly ran to see!
The tall boy and the small boy wearing the red gnome hat gazed up at a very beautiful tree, but this one just was not the one...
Once again, we were moving along through this little world of evergreens, taking joy in this most exciting treasure hunt!
The small boy could always be seen by the tip of his red hat. It was he who had found the most beautiful tree that would soon find it's way home with us on this magical December day!
Each child gathered around the base of the tree and with Daddy's guidance every set of hands helped the saw do it's work. Back and forth they sawed, until...
The tree was now ready to be carried from the farm from where it had grown to now live with us at our home. It will bring sparkle, memories, pure joy, and magic in to our home. Later still it will enjoy a third incarnation outdoors for our friends the birds.
Up went the tree onto the cart that would be pulled through the field...
...By three sets of hands. Walking, quickly turned to gleeful running. These little ones knew that soon back at home we would be warmed by hot chocolate and Christmas Carols and our home would be scented with pine.
