.: Crochet-inspired stones that were born today! :.
Recently we enjoyed time visiting with friends on a small secluded island. Along with finding treasures of sea glass I enjoyed gathering flat stones that lay in the waters and along the shore that had been tumbled to a smooth round finish. Many of these smooth stones were perfect for skipping over the ocean waters while enjoying the quiet of the day.
.: I enjoyed photographing these stones as much as I did painting them! :.
.: Blue Hydrangeas continue to share themselves with me. Today they became part of the creation!:.
A small basket of these stones also made their way home with us. I knew that they would bring the peaceful energy of the ocean along with them to our home. Each time I gaze at them our time on the island is remembered.
I find inspiration through nature and creating with nature. I knew that these stones that hold such energy of the crashing waves and the peaceful rolling in and away of the tides would be painted with additional creative beauty and expressiveness.
.: I enjoyed painting Lace-like patterns on these ocean stones! :.
With inspiration found through Maribeth's crocheted stones, I took out my paint, fine brushes, and a basket of ocean-dwelling stones on the porch on this cool evening. Fireflies shared their lights in the distance and the house was fast asleep, giving me these simple inspired moments of play.
.: Each additional stone that was painted was more enjoyable than the last! :.
.: Flowers paired with stones make me smile on this summer's day! :.
After painting a few of these crochet-inspired stones I lay my head upon my pillow. Before falling asleep I dreamt while still half-awake of the new designs I would enjoy creating with the children in the morning.
.: I appreciate the crisp clean appearance of white upon the gray stones :.
These creative supplies and creations were left out until the morning for the children to notice on their own. Without saying a word it always seems to work out that they find inspiration and begin their own inspired creating with only the quiet leading of the materials and finished stones set on the table.
.: Sea glass and ocean stones joining together once again in a new landscape :.
.: A painted version of crochet-adorned stones! :.
I found myself continuing to enjoy these simple materials throughout our day and found a peaceful rhythm through paint and brush.
.: I appreciate this stone on the left and found painting these crochet-inspired circles enjoyable! :.
.: Once again these treasures of the sea are gathered together! :.
