After heavy rains and a brief period of sun we noticed to our delight a circle of mushrooms. My children completed this magical circle-- fairies really do exist!
We love to learn through the natural world around us. Some of our favorite things to look for are different varieties of pinecones, wild flowers, wild berries, and feathers. Today we set out looking for mushrooms. This summer we have been greeted in abundance by butterflies, moths, and mushrooms varietals we have never seen before. It is amazing to me that when we are looking for a specific treasure how many truly magical creations come across our paths. Perhaps if we were not tuned in, these gifts from nature would stay hidden beneath the trees and we would pass them by. It is as if a whole other world opens up right before our very eyes when we listen to what the earth has to say all around us. With our three children by our sides our eyes are turned child-like wide with wonder as we journeyed into the woods together in search of all that it had to offer us on this day.
Delicate beauties. Baby mushroom sheltered by mama up above...
Dancing and twirling in a golden field with ferns for her wings.
Exquisitely beautiful. Seemingly delicate yet so powerful to force themselves up out of the ground!
A sweet little visitor only the size of the very tip of my finger! She had many brothers and sisters that we met along our way!
