When the sun is out you can find us at the river. It is only a short
walk through the woods...
As we walk through the woods, we stop here and there to seek out bright flashes of red that pop out from the grass at the edges of the path. If we are lucky we are rewarded with sweet wild strawberries that have been kissed by the sun.

We take our time walking over the bridge...
...and are captivated by the mountains that spread beyond us.
We take in the abundant beauty of the fields surrounding us in every direction.
The last few times we have come here we shared the water with a beaver. He likes to slap his tail in the water and make a great splash that always startles us and makes us laugh. I feel at peace listening to the whoosh of the river, mesmerized by the cadence of its flow.
I don't think we will ever tire of the beauty of this
place. My children never tire of playing in the sand
...or running through the woods to get to the sandy banks of the river.
I love to watch them in their freedom as they venture to this place. We are taking in memories along the way that I hope they will revisit in their minds now and in the future.
