.: My oldest son enjoying his time while reading us a story aloud :.
This morning was spent under an old apple tree in the back yard. The sun felt warm and the air was crisp. The scent of apples and dried leaves scented the air to give us a hint that autumn was surrounding us.
Three strong apple boughs form a cozy nest for three little ones to nestle into their slings while gently being rocked by the breeze. Windchimes hung in a branch above sprinkle notes across the moments. The children page through their magical fairytales and quietly take in the illustrations and share them with one another.
.:My absolute favorite book by Tasha Tudor - I try to imagine that I am there among the pages:.
Each child was wrapped up cozily in their colorful cocoon while a gathering of books was held close beside them.
.: My youngest son enjoying Elsa Beskow's "Flowers Festival" :.
.: My daughter is also quite taken with the world of Tasha Tudor :.
.: My little-big guy's sweet and cozy feet :.
I could not help but be reminded of the days when my husband and I carried our wee babes across our chest in slings so similar to the slings my children found themselves nurtured in today!
Little feet sticking out reminding me of when my littles were babies...
.: My youngest looks up at me from his pile of books :.
These same blue eyes look up at me while held closely by the arms of the apple tree.
.: A Time To Keep sitting next to a basket that holds many of our nature finds from a walk we had earlier in the day :.
.: Enjoying the sun while listening to a story read aloud :.
Even my eldest is held tight by a sling once more. Nurtured, comforted and safely snuggled in while reading aloud some of his favorite stories to his younger brother and sister and a proud mama.
.: The book and hammock created the colors of our day! :.
.: Reaching forward into the basket for the next book! :.
This was a time for mama to rock her babies slowly back and forth in these cradles held up by the tree boughs, bringing forth a sense of peace while taking in the morning with a gentle rhythm.
.: Enjoying being nestled in his cocoon :.
.: Listening intently to Daddy who sat with me in the grass and read us a story, one of my favorite things in the world! :.
