.: Welcome to Wash Wednesday! :.
I have dear childhood memories of wash
days with my Nana. She took the extra time and great care to share
this process with me and made it
fun.
What better power can we use than the natural and free energy of the wind and sun?
Through Wash Wednesdays I hope to bring mindfulness to our chores as mothers, making them feel a bit less like chores and a lot more like creating!
.: Cindy shared this gorgeous and colorful photo with me for today's Wash Wednesday post! :.
In Cindy's words..."Here is one from Hawaii... my folks don't even own a clothes dryer. Who would with nearly constant sunshine and trade winds to boot!"
Thank you Cindy for sharing this beautiful and colorful clothesline photo with us!
Nancy was dreaming of spring in February when she set her hand-made quilt out on the line!
Nancy also shared this clothesline photo with me, in her own words...
"I love, love to put clothes on the line! Since we recently started homeschooling, I call it my recess."
I love this Nancy, our recess looks very similar! Thank you for sharing your photo and words!
Nicole is drying her laundry on this lovely drying rack. She recently moved and is surrounded by forest. She is excited to find a creative way to hang a clothesline far from the falling debris of the trees.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful photo Nicole!
Molly made homemade laundry soap. In her words...
"I love it! It smells so good going into the wash (thanks to the almond-scented Castile soap), and doesn't smell at all when it comes out of the wash, which to me, is a sign of clean. I made three batches of laundry soap (using two bars of soap and a fraction of the boxes of Borax and washing soda), enough to fill up a large glass jar, which I covered with a sleeve made from a small piece of adorable laundry line fabric."
Thank you Molly for these great photos and for a new laundry soap recipe I look forward to trying it!
These next two photos are from Sara. During the winter months she was creative and started drying her laundry on lines in her greenhouse!
Thank you for sharing this creative idea!
Maya shares a love of hanging laundry on the line and created these beautiful burlap bags to hold clothespins. You can view more of her lovely creations in her shop.
Thank you for sharing this photo with us Maya!
Teena shared these two gorgeous photos with me from her Mother and Father's homeland of Greece.
Thank you Teena for sharing these beautiful clothesline photos from a place you hold close to your heart!
These next two photos belong to Melissa. This is a photo of playsilks she dyed that were drying on the line.
I love this photo Melissa sent in of her little one's cloth diapers. In her words..."Let's see, I can see Monkey Snuggles, Tiny Tush, PlanetWise, JamTots, Baby Kicks, and assorted clothing."
Thank you Melissa for sharing such sweet photos!
These next two photos make me smile. They are from Samantha. They are of her son Jude's cloth diapers.
Samantha writes "Clotheslines make my heart happy"
I agree Samantha! Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos!
I was lucky enough to receive one of Emily's incredible paper-cuts. Here is another cut she created of a clothesline, I think it is so beautiful!
Thank you for sharing your creative version of a clothesline Emily!
You can find the tutorial to make your own here.
This photo is also from Mandy. She shared these beautiful sentiments paired with laundry day photos on her blog...
in having a routine in every task no matter how mundane
There is a chance to look at the world living the world happening right at our fingertips
Rather than rushing through a moment there is an opportunity to discover so muchOverwhelmed by housework cooking and cleaning and all of
the tasks that come with caring for two little ones.
To be in this momentwith the sun overhead
and the earth underfoot
taking it all in
And move through
and move on
to the next
bit of a day.
You have shared such beauty through photos and words. Thank you Mandy!
Donni shared this photo with me and it makes me smile. In her words...
"This photo is of my children catching the drops of water coming off my freshly dyed wool... They called it 'Drinking Rainbow Water'
Thank you Donni! This feels like a very happy and magical photo to end with today!
May your dreams be scented with the crisp scent of the wind, and may the warm sun nurture your sheets on the clothesline!
